Literacy Centers

Centers are set up around the room for the children to further develop their literacy and numeracy skills. Children can go to theses centers after small group instruction time.

Sorting Snowflakes! Children use the pictures on the snowflakes and sort by beginning sound onto the mat.

ABC's! This child is sorting pictures by beginning sound and putting them in the correct pocket.

In this center, children are putting the nursery rhyme, "Jack and Jill" back together using cut up words as they refer to the chart.

These boys have put snowmen in order from 1 to 20.

The girls are using magnetic letters to sound out CVC words on the chalkboard.

Here are some friends taking care of "sick pets" in our classroom veterinarian's office. The Doctors' names are: Dr. Whiskers, Dr. Fur, and Dr. Beak
