Literacy Groups
We were lucky enough to have our principal, Mrs. Naysnerski, help out one day! The children are reading booklets called "Leaves". They are learning concepts about print.
These children are using their skills of observation to record findings about their leaf.
Children are writing in their journals. They illustrate first, then with teacher assistance, they stretch the words in the sentence and write any letters they may hear.

We have begun our Math Investigation called Pattern Trains and Hopscotch Paths.

The children are playing a game called "What's Missing?" After placing nine objects on the game board, a player turns his back while two things are removed by his/her partner. Can he/she tell what's missing? This game helps children begin to observe things and note the relationship and attributes of objects. These skills help children begin to see and construct patterns.
